The fourth game in the SSX series of video games for the PlayStation Portable is a snowboarding and skiing game called SSX on Tour. SSX Blur follow-up, which appeared in 2007, was set among SSX 3 and SSX on Tour.
The PSP modification is also very different from the major console formats. It only offers custom personalities and SSX 3-inspired levels as options for modification. Additionally, it has left out the use of promotions for performing Monster Tricks.
Gameplay
The primary objective of the events in SSX on Tour stays the same – snowboarding across a hill while earning points for different stunts that can be achieved. The gameplay is identical to that of SSX 3 with comparable controls. The player’s “boost bar” increases with each trick, and when it reaches its maximum then it allows for the performance of unique operations. Though there were many parallels, the way races and events were organized was altered significantly. On Tour has skiing and skating, which is a new mechanic even though the gameplay is essentially the same. Now, players may design their personalities by choosing their icon, appearance, height, costumes, and hairstyle. And whether they want to be skiers or snowboarders. After it has been formed, the personality can participate in both official and unofficial “Shreds” contests. Developing the top position on the SSX charts is the primary aim. And each event or mission completed provides the player “Hype,” which boosts their profile.
This game takes the SSX series in a new direction by being presented in the format of a notebook. Simple graphics, frequently with a lined background, are displayed in sketch format for both the cover design and in-game settings. The unique in-game recollections were formerly shown as snowflakes in SSX games. It has been switched out for drawings known as “skulvis” which were popular among the team.
